Madrid shines with 39 stars in the latest edition of the Michelin Guide
The capital continues to boost its culinary appeal with a total of 31 selected establishments and 39 stars in the 2026 edition of the restaurant guide. Ramón Freixa Atelier, EMi and Èter are the latest to join this group of outstanding temples of fine dining.

Bernabéu Market, a food haven at the home of Real Madrid
This newly opened 3,000-square-metre space has more than twenty stalls offering a select and varied range of dining options. The iconic potato omelette, or tortilla, from Casa Dani, cured Iberian meats from Joselito, Italian recipes from Beata Pasta and Japanese dishes from Kogumi are just some of the choices available in this market, open daily with extended hours.

Every Saturday the gallery opens its doors for a late-evening cultural programme, inviting visitors to discover its temporary exhibitions free of charge from 9pm to 11pm. In its second session of the year, the municipal body presented progress in areas such as mobility, cleanliness, accommodation planning and flight connections. It also highlighted the rise in foreign tourism and the record tourist spending registered between January and September, which exceeded 13 million euro and reflects year-on-year growth of 9.52%.

The city’s Tourism Department has unveiled a promotional initiative across outdoor platforms and media outlets in the Asian nation to highlight the capital’s cultural and culinary attractions and experiences. China represents a strategic market for Madrid, aligning with its focus on high-quality tourism. By late 2025, the city will be directly connected by air to ten Chinese cities.

Nativity scenes, music, theatre, cinema, street parades and unforgettable moments such as the Three Kings Parade on 5 January, which will pay tribute to teachers, invite us all to experience Christmas “Madrid-style”.

A new production of this operatic classic arrives in the capital, featuring acclaimed voices such as Aigul Akhmethsina and stage direction by Damiano Michieletto, who offers a renewed perspective on the lust, violence and passion of Georges Bizet’s work. The Madrid opera house will offer 15 performances between 10 December and 4 January.
